WHO WE ARE

Burgess Street Dance began in 2019 when founder Anna Fontanes had a vision to use her professional dance training and love for children to create a summer dance camp. The camp was a success leading to a second camp and by fall there was a demand to begin weekly dance classes.

Anna Fontanes received a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance Performance from Oklahoma City University. During her summers in school she worked as a dancer in Vegas and trained with tap legend Henry LeTang. After graduation she danced her way across the country enjoying time in LA, Chicago, dancing for Bobby Vinton and Jim Stafford in Branson, MO and ending up in NYC where she continued her dance training at Steps and Broadway Dance Center. She performed in several showcases off Broadway and began teaching dance to children.  Years later she decided to relocate to Boston where she joined the Boston Tap Company and performed at various venues in and around the city including Jacob’s Pillow and opening for the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular.  Fontanes got married and began a family. After raising several children close in age she desired to pass on her passion for dance to them and her vision for Burgess Street Dance was born.

Burgess Street Dance offers classes in ballet, tap and jazz for ages 3 through teens. The dancers perform a Christmas and spring show each year as well as various events and dance festivals.
